There's even a few Switch emulators in the list, lol.

@meechele7 Well, this is just my social media of choice. Twitter's ad-ridden, and I once literally searched for something like Twitter but with a bigger character limit. Mastodon was the best result. Been sticking around for over 5 years now.

Woo, I got my Steam Deck in! I've been trying out a few games and also tested out the gyro. Not sure I'll be using the gyro that much, but LEGO games and such work perfectly fine on that thing. 😁

Went to play a good session of FAR: Lone Sails, it's kinda getting used to a smaller screen. I mean, I usually game on a 24" monitor. :P

I also managed to mooch a dock from job, still gotta test that out with the deck but it'll be a nice loaner until I get a nice dock that's more suited for holding the Deck. A Deck dock. :P

@mur2501 Depends on how much you immerse in it, the lessons you get, etc. Just like any other language, really. Though some have difficulty with spatial languages (3D thinking) so I guess... it depends?

Hehe, I've tried watching some BSL programmes on the BBC a few decades ago (don't seem to see them much anymore? Granted, I don't watch that much TV anymore either), and I just couldn't understand all the two-handed fingerspellings. 😅

Seems to me their influence is limited to the Commonwealth. Not all of them though, I know Canada uses an ASL-derivation (if not ASL itself).

@PapaBear I'm kinda inclined to go with the latter story, as I've never heard of LSF learning from ISL before. 😅
And then taking it to the US later seems kinda overboard to me as I've been taught it was Clerc who went to USA with Gallaudet to help develop ASL.

Might be a case of Irish pride there? 😅

Though we have our Dutch pride too! We have a deaf school BEFORE the Americans got theirs. ;)

Yeah, I can see it not working very well with adults if they still have to learn it _and_ they have cognitive/emotional deficits. 😬

I mean, try teaching them French (if you're not in a French speaking country, otherwise try something else, like German)... won't go as easily either!

Otoh, if the whole staff isn't into it, it isn't really helping matters much either. 👀
