Ah darn. Buddy and me tried to hack the lua files of Ascension in order to play with a higher honor pool.

At first it didn't quite work out until we changed some more code, and then we could play. But we did hit the game's internal limit of 60 honor, so stuff just... stopped working beyond that point. (We've set up for 400 honor initially).

And I had such a great insane card draw too! 😭 60 honor is way too short for some of those decks!

@lucifargundam Oh yeah, fridge would have been insta-throwaway. But I've got a shitton of meats from last year still in the freezer. I think I should get around to actually eating them, huh?

Took sausages out of the freezer... best used before april 2020.

Well, it's still edible. 😅

Heh, a programme on TV that I thought was a standalone movie turned out to be a Murder She Wrote episode. I didn't remember anymore that it was part of that series.

My GitHub is full of release updates of RimWorld mods because of the impending update to 1.3. I probably should check out that game again.

The upcoming DLC is also very much in tune with the current state of affairs in the world with the Ideology expansion. Half tempted to get it, though I see plenty of idealism already IRL. ;)

@pie I've read that SyncThing is supposed to be pretty good. Someone else suggested FolderSync. I'm using NextCloud but somehow Obsidian can't write to my SD card (Android 8 here, maybe that's the problem, I still have to check). So I'll probably try one of those as well. Then there's also the native Obsidian Sync but that's not free.

@GustavinoBevilacqua So maybe it's because of all those years doing Thaumcraft in Minecraft! 😅

@cypnk Reminds me of those gel pens, only much much much cooler!

@pie I think to know the difference between Obsidian and Joplin, you could try them both. They're both free and for education you can use Obsidian for free license-wise, so that's not an issue.

Last time I used Joplin (uh.. half year to a year ago now?) their plugins were still kind of limited. They were mostly stuff that Obsidian usually already has as default.

Joplin tagging is more an afterthought in my opinion. It was really hard to do more with the tags than just tagging them.

And I absolutely loved the backlinking. That way you can make a note per subject and link together.

But I'm seriously shit at explaining this.. I just know there are a lot of academia using Obsidian. I use it for totally different things, but my impression is that Obsidian is pretty neat for students.

Additional advantage is that Obsidian stores all files in .md (markdown) files, so if you wanted to you can use those files in other software as well. Joplin stores them in a database (which can be encrypted).

And I'm not sure anymore how Joplin synces with your phone lately (they were busy moving from one system to another when I used it) whereas with Obsidian you could sync using any sync tool you please since they're just .md files.

Erm.. yeah I probably made a mess of this explanation. My best suggestion is to just try Obsidian and see if you'd like it or not. Or just ignore me, but at least I've tried to explain. 😅

@pie I've used it for a while. Switched to Obsidian.md though, because the plugins and tagging and backlinking are seriously great over there. But if you don't need plugins or tags or backlink features, Joplin is pretty neat!

@GustavinoBevilacqua The green slice is bigger at my place. I don't know why! People are in anguish when I enter the room because they can't show anymore what went wrong! 😅

@neil More sounds like they cheaped out on heatsinks and cooling fans?

@akhilan I'm sure the close ad button is proportionally even smaller!

@kk RSS is great. I'm sad that some new sites don't utilize it and want people to sub to newsletters instead. Newsletters won't get read by me, they end up in spam eventually because my inbox is overflowing. By those newsletters. :P

@mur2501 @freemo
That is actually not that bad an idea, strangely enough. :P

Bot others to tech ourselves?

@zstark
I don't care if you consider it a straw argument. I consider yours a straw argument by summing up those 3 cases and ending it with that conclusion.

It's morally even less acceptable to put other people at risk because of your own actions. Your friends probably thought the same.

Everybody knows the vaccines can have side effects. Here they tell you all about it and still recommend you to take the vaccine. People have to make their own decisions.

Those friends voluntarily took the vaccine, didn't they? (If not, then -that- is not morally acceptable. Not because of the vaccin itself.)

You're basically telling your friends they made a BS decision.

@zstark You definitely implied it.

You mention 3 friends of yours almost dying or needing hospitalization, then ended your rant with 'The vaccine is fucking BS.'

They were very unlucky.

That friend from India might actually have been dead now if not for the vaccine, you don't know that.

@zstark The vaccine does not make you 100% immune. It hugely decreases the chances of you needing to go to the hospital if you do get sick.

You don't become fucking ironman with the vaccine! Why do people keep thinking that?!

@lydiaconwell Eh, George Lucas managed to completely screw the franchise after the original trilogy. I was a die hard Star Wars fan... emphasis on was.

I still like some elements of Star Wars though. All those books I have here were pretty decent, before they were declared non-canon with the new movies. Rogue One was also a nice watch.

But with Starwars movie #7 (The Force Awakens iirc?) I have had zero motivation to watch #8 and #9, which I understand are shit.

I'll stick to the old canon.
