@lydiaconwell I don't like vanilla Mastodon really much either. That's why I'm on an instance that's gone beyond the basic features.

For example, I can follow people I do NOT follow. That is to say, I don't follow them the normal way, but more like RSS-feed style subscribe. I can't see their private posts, but I can see all their public posts and put those people in a list of my choosing. That way you don't have to actively follow bots either, just 'subscribe' to them.

My list has the 'Home' in there by default, so I can uncheck people from there and check them in another list. (If I uncheck them first, I actually unfollowed them by accident heh). That way I can dump them in a list and not get spammed by them in my home timeline.

I guess vanilla Mastodon doesn't seem to have those features.

Fucking Zivver. My job has that as plugin in Outlook to 'secure' email. But all it does is _preventing_ my email to be sent. Secure == Not sending. Yeah, that's an easy claim to make... :P

Dunno, but you can make bookmarks/favorites/shortcuts to certain lists if that helps?

Yes, basically. You can directly add people you follow in lists (and remove them from your hometimeline. This is possible here, and is probably a vanilla mastodon feature too, but don't pin me on it), or via the settings/Follows and Subscriptions you can add more ways to autofollow things (keywords, hashtags) and decide where they get casted to (a list, your home timeline, etc).

@lydiaconwell Isn't that what lists are for? My instance also allows for 'subscribing' to people without actually following them (and then you can put them in a list as well).

I love it that Ryo's car in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Collection (yes the game's name is this long) is basically an Outrun arcade, and your character sits in there to play... Outrun... while you use that whole arcade setup as a car in the race. :D

That car's stats is pretty well suited for me too, drifting is fun!

I'm really liking this new joypad, it's cheap and it works sweet! And turns out it has force feedback too! Just found out that the first race game I played simply didn't have FFB support, heh!

I'm having cautious hope myself that Omicron will indeed be more mild yet more infectious. But too much is still unknown about it. Guess that's why my government has a knee-jerk reaction now of a lockdown until we know more about it and to buy time so everybody who wants to can get boostered.

@bonifartius Those jokes are always considered gallows humor, not just 'now'. Even I make very dark jokes sometimes and won't act upon it. It's just a way of venting harmlessly. Though best not done in public like those dumb jokesters have done, but that's obviously why they have piped down so you could barely hear them.

Social media IS the worst of society. You can't take it seriously. Something about feeling invulnerable because you're anonymous.

And you get scared and uncomfortable after reading all that bullshit. And you're forwarding it right here. My suggestion? Take a break from the internet if it affects you that much.

@bonifartius Having concerns about mrna-vaccines isn't new. Freemo had the same. He went with a vector-vaccine (Johnsson) instead. He got a vaccine later too (only a few months ago?). Having concerns about 'new' vaccination methods (mrna is a bit older than most people realise) doesn't make you a bad person.

Though you'll find to have less and less excuse nowadays, heh. Just recently the novavax vaccine got approved in the EU, which is even more traditional than mrna and vector.

I understand having concerns at the start. But as time goes on, and more is known and more ways to get vaccinated are available.. *Shrug*

And in turn you're wishing doom and gloom on the vaccinated. Why wouldn't I treat you the same as you treat those dumb jokesters?

@lucifargundam Sorry, I'm mostly active in the Dutch room on Matrix. There doesn't seem to be many others around on the Qoto lobby yeah.

Looks like I'm playing LotRO again with my buddy. This time on the Treebeard server where XP gain is more than halved. Means we'll be in the level 1-50 zones for much longer. Those were the most enjoyable zones anyway, the newer ones are all just shit. We also upped the difficulty to 'Deadly', which is not that deadly so far. But that might change later. Unless they meant we are a deadly combo, a killer combo.. :P
