@rob One thing's for sure: Interaction in general helps. Whether it be bots or to other random strangers! Well, random strangers maybe a bit more, but still, interaction is key. :D

@rob Oh man, a bot in disguise! Where have I seen that before...

@rob But I wasn't responding to a newsbot, I was responding to you instead, lol. :D

Unleeeessss....

You're secretly a bot? ;)

@amicalucis I'd consider the Soviet era kinda ancient by now. :) But yes, I don't think this can be cheap, and it'll only get rarer!

@worldsendless Aha. Well, the possibility is still that you could've done 3 seperate recordings and then add the video files in the video editor as desired. But that'd still be a large file combined anyway, so yeah. Might be a bit easier to work with RAM-wise maybe. Heh, lemme know how the post-processing goes.

@rob For that I generally sometimes browse the Federated timeline and respond on toots that seem interesting enough to respond to.

For example, I responded to yours. :D And I found it an interesting perspective, so thank you for that. :)

@rob Neat! Which kind of bots would get the most discussions on their toots?

@rob Mmm, possible. I wouldn't really know because I really do block most bots since I have a dedicated RSS reader myself. I wonder if people really do interact a lot with those bots though? They usually are 0 comments as far as I could see.

@amicalucis Neat. That thing's ancient now by today's standards.

@rob Well, whenever possible I tend to block the instances that's solely bots... ;)

@Captain@octodon.social Like 'Obamacare' and 'Het kwartje van Kok'?

I... am impressed by r/place on Reddit. At the start of the day it was just a few small loose pixel images, few flags, and mostly a mess.

Now it's a whole canvas full of flags, images, etc... Mostly flags. A shitton of flags.
https://www.reddit.com/r/place/

Heh, I remember there was a Russian flag at one point, but it totally got modified into a different country's flag.

The Ukrainian flag takes the full width now, whereas it was about halfway at first.

Way up there is a whole Dutch line, that's pretty cool. :D

1000 monkeys might not produce the works of Shakespeare, but they sure can make art!

@Marisa Welcome to the Fediverse!

@worldsendless Oh, wow. Did you need to record all three??

@matbesancon There, put it back to default and turned on Dark Reader again. That's still the best filter for me. :D

@matbesancon Oh lol. Shows you how much I pay attention to all random bars on top, bottom, left or right, since they're usually ads or promotions. I auto-ignore them.

Didn't notice they're viewing filters until I read your post. That's a funny one. :D

@Acer Lol... I'm actually suspecting that you're using this poor OCR Bot as an easy way to digitize all this text. :D

@JonathanMBR While trying, or while not trying to attract attention? Just making sure, because why do you want to attract attention because it's pay day?

@Acer That is what a chain letter is. It is called chain letter because it gets sent to the next X amount persons in a friend's list, and so on, and so on, friends of friends of friends. Ad infinitum.

But yes, it is basically a pyramid-scheme letter, indeed.

@Acer What do you mean? What toxic one?

You meant: You didn't know that a chain letter could be toxic?

A chain letter is pretty much spam. If you get 100s of chainletters a day, and then they go 'respond to all' to tell others to stop sending them those chain letters.. and those others 'respond to all' too (we didn't use BCC back then either, how foolish of us).. yeah, you got fantastic spam going on lol.

I'm glad that time's far behind me, and I hope it's not coming back. ;)
