Ah, the joys of working with pure data!

I was trying to do a complicated, customized, rendering system to Chlorine. It was SLOW as HELL.

Then, I thought: why can't I combine lots of hiccup structures in a single one?

Surprise: code now runs in 20% of the original time!

Given a phone number, finding the carrier or land-line status of that number should be free info, right? Why are there so many free-just-kidding rackets out there to get you this info? Anyone know a clean way to get ground-truth on phone-number carrier info?

A detailed and richly sourced look at and then in particular, with the task of transpiler writing as a foil for elaborating some of the fundamental distinctions of the language

Emacs, Clomacs and Babashka is just cheating… Using Clojure and all its goodies in emacs instead of elisp. Converting between format (json/yaml/edn/transit, html/hiccup) is just trivial xD.

The more programming languages I know, the more I understand that they all suck. Some suck less, though.

"One little known fact that I found about using Clojure, is that it is an excellent language for implementing published algorithms in academic papers."

There are still people who can’t understand that wearing a mask in public transport is just a sign of politeness in COVID times…

Orgs supporting NFTs and crypto: Twitter, Discord and Adobe (Big Tech, centralised)
Projects opposing it: Mastodon, Zulip and Kritta (open source, decentralised)
If you think crypto and NFTs will democratise the internet, wonder why Big Tech likes it and decentralised OS doesn't

Clojurians Zulip aggregates slack, clojureverse, reddit, and stack overflow Clojure items, and puts them all in a readable email for me so I don't need to "check" those sights but can read and visit directly what is interesting. Gotta say, this is a huge advantage to my workflow!

Well, Fridays have always been my date night...

Have I COMPLETELY lost my mind?!?

This has been needed for deploying certain Clojure WAR files to Java application servers, before we quit and went to uberwar

On Linux you can do this to set a default java version/jdk:

update-alternatives --list java # list it
update-alternatives --display java # see default
sudo update-alternatives --config java # choose a new
man update-java-alternatives # read docs twitter.com/vwbusguy/status/14

10 years of programming Clojure isn't long enough to remember which way around the less-than and greater-than symbols go.

Macrobrew gets a deref mention. It's been a good week.

On a serious note, the community has been very welcoming to me and I'm grateful for that.

I couldn't imagine being featured in a language's official newsletter.

Another reason to learn clojure :) twitter.com/ClojureDeref/statu
