Having issues with exporting my orgmode blogposts where underscores were interpreted as subscripts, but sometimes still wanting subscripts, I was helped to a working solution. orys.us/un

Dear hackers!

I've put up babashka.org/toolbox/ now which is a direct port of @weavejester 's clojure toolbox!

If you know more libs that are bb compatible, please submit a PR to the repo.

I export orgmode to my blogs. However, when I have an underscore (like in a section header) it is interpreted as putting the next thing in a subscript. There are plenty of answers out there for disabling this globaly or for the whole file, but I WANT subscripts sometimes. How do I tell it to leave just a particular _ alone when I export?

I have been replacing java application servers with raw uberjar deployments, which are more stable and reliable. It takes a little setup, though. Notes updated orys.us/um. Improvements welcome, as I am just working out devops as part of my fullstack work.

In when a function exceeds 2 sequential args it's time to consider using a map instead. In shell scripting, when bash exceeds single-level if statements, time to consider . Avoid questions like, "wait... has bash semantic whitespace?" "Do I need semicolons after every line?"

@freemo is it just, unnecessary upgrades make waste? Or is there a known issue?

I notice that is a number of versions of mastodon behind instances like mastodon.social, though it also works better in some areas. Any particular reason it is behind or just no reason to upgrade yet?

Regarding the Fediverse, it's great that I can follow a bookwyrm account from mastodon. Does anyone know if there is a way of technically defining that a bookwyrm account is mine?

"Deals" on Kindles may seem attractive, but don't forget Amazon is one of the most devoted peddlers of DRM. We prefer books we can loan to our friends, free of restriction and prying eyes. #PrimeDay #DRM

Read this article in reader mode, as it is itself smothered in ads top and bottom. But the point is, Google sells massive amounts of personal data as kind of a public secret; the worst part is that they lead you to think it is actually for your good and service that they do it. It goes to the point that privacy -- owning your own data -- is increasingly expensive

Keyboard Macros are misunderstood in .

If you only use them for light text editing, then you're missing out on its most powerful feature of all:

The ability to record and play back nearly anything. Like your fav. window config.
