@thor Some politicians are the same, they are almost detached from the real world in some way.

@thor I always see him with some smart ass arrogant look on his face. Makes me wish someone with a big first would wipe the smirk fully from his face.

Not advocating violence here btw

@aral

Surely the best way to combat this is to ensure more people know the signs of child abuse and know how and where to report it., the people who they report it to ACT and we can protect more children and young people that way.

It is not a nice subject but here in the UK safeguarding training is compulsory for school staff, there is a legal duty.

Plus there has to be information sharing among police forces, hence we have UK disclosure and barring service so there is a single point of information on people who are barred from working with children.

People need to know that their concerns will be acted on, as that one small thing is part of a wider picture of the child.

With the #DigitalServicesAct #DSA, the EU is to adopt landmark legislation to regulate online platforms around the world.

Next week, I’ll host an event that will focus on how to place our rights and freedoms at the center of the new regulation. (1/2)

Lately I've been getting noticed around the world and online in random places, usually STEM oriented.

Just now two people from a random internet chat room ( # ) knew who I was, had a similar experience in a Science forum. Even in person, I visited a maker space I had never been to and more than one person came up to me and said "Aren't you freemo, from mastodon".

It feels weird being recognized when I go random places. I feel like I lost a sort of natural anonymity. Havent felt this way in decades (when i was younger I was on the news a lot and was recognized often as well).

I guess the reason its so surprising is I didnt really realize how much reach I had until just now. I mostly joined the fediverse just so I could shit post in peace, lol.

How do I follow results on here @NFL appears to be the official twitter channel ( Iam guessing it just reposts contest here) but has a invalid SSL certificate or something.

I just want score / fixture updates.

@pluralistic

A conundrum for the fediverse is how to produce content that is engaging.

@ademalsasa Microsoft have the financial power to ensure computers are installed with windows,

+1 to suggesting gnome they are working to get the UI right.

I chose yes.

Honestly, I admire mass production impacts that Windows users enjoy today. Thanks to that, users get software without technical difficulties and the software too became famous and useful to most humanity. I think same thing should happen to GNOME.

For you who have no idea what GNOME is, please see gnome.org.
