@Shrigglepuss At least on fedi an admin can block a whole instance content that is say racist. Users can choose where to sign up to based on the rules, users can also mute or block users or instances.

Control is far better here. Granted it may not be perfect then what is , or define perfect.

if you don't like the rules on an instance the admin can say run your own.

@piggo well duckduckgo blocks one of the plugins so facebook doesnt even show up if embedded, nto sure if that is ddg or me, I don't care it gets blocked.

Facebook has been like this for months, I blocked it at the \etc\hosts level
