The new anti-surveillance bill proposed in Congress is amazing in concept---it's a huge step in the right direction.
But I don't like the fact that it's being portrayed on the news as "the democrats are doing this". Surveillance should not be a partisan issue.
@hn50 This is pretty significant, given the number of people using it and the number of people employed to use this and other similar tools / software.

I get the same ID issues trying to apply for things, I don't have a passport (can't afford one) I dont havef a photo driving license, I can't afford a car so why bother updating my paper one.
Those at the top just assume people have xyz on them. I do have a citizen card, which people seem to question despite the process of getting one still requiring some checks and someone in a specific set of position to check the photo is in fact a likeness of the person applying.
Also assumptions people have mobile phones or want one. I want a pine phone that does not track people.
