If i understand it these students are from a country that is supporting putin, that may change if those students are killed.

@icedquinn Not everyone there are one or two countries supporting Russia.

@icedquinn I understand that, but lets hope it does not escalate to us bombing each other, the cost will be immense. There are no winners in that scenario.

@Greenpeace@newsbots.eu Lets use this as a wake up call for reliance on others for energy too

We have the technology just need the will to install this.

@icedquinn

The fighting is between two countries surely that does not constitute an actual world war.

@jordan @piggo
Military is becoming demoralised as it is. There surely has to be a point where these soldiers surely realise the are doing the wrong thing even if they are following orders.

@zleap i hope even the most naive ones must see through the charade pretty soon, this cant go much further. once food disappears from the shelves, they will want answers better than hand waving about "ukraine nazis"

@piggo Indeed, granted they are told special military ops, what kind of SMO when food is scarce and big companies are closing up shop in russia.

Maybe they have already realised, but are trying formulate a plan to fight back.

One picture showed 2/3 police officers on one person but surrounded by many other people, at some point someone will snap , fight back and that may be the spark people need.

Lets hope it comes sooner rather than later, some of the UK press is very much on the doom laden headlines,

@Moon While as adults we can see things and then hopefully consider if what we see is true, false, misleading, Children may not be able to do that or need adults (who are capable) to help them. If the adults just believe everything, what chance do children have. ?

We are going to have a very traumatised generation, post covid, we are just recovering and now this.

@aljazeera_english@newsbots.eu

Indeed, or in terms of US wars, Vietnam.

@ScumbagDog @selea @charlie_root@social.linux.pizza

Maybe it makes themn a better politician than a person who has been in politics for ever and does not really know how the world really works.

Zelynsky seems to be someone who people can actually connect with , a rare thing for a lot of politicians.

@piggo Putin does not want the people of Russia to know what is really going on.

It will be interesting how long he can keep the actual truth from the people and if they will actually do something once they find out.

I can already say that the UI is WAY smoother. More so than I expected. Sure there’s two extra CPU cores. But I think the GPU upgrade is the real win here

@LouisConde Is there a difference between supporting the Russian state and Russian people who are against all this.

If any members of the government of Russia spoke out against Putin they MUST surely be supported by people.

@markusl @rysiek@mastodon.technology @aral

I really hate to think what effect all this discussion of nuclear war is having on children and young people (trying to make sense of it), coming out of covid, they have a lot of anxiety and mental health problems.

There is no talk on how us adults are mean to help them with these worries.
