@alienghic @zleap @dsfgs It's as if huge companies exerting power over people was just as bad as tyrannical governments, don't you think?

Sounds good, I wonder how long it will take for the UK to come out of the dark ages and officially join the fediverse.

I am not sure what is wrong with the image shown but thankfully here we don't have to put up with nonsense such as this.

I didn't take this photo but I was with my husband when he did. It was breathtaking up on Stenbury Down on the Isle of Wight, watching the mist roll in at sunset. The sheep were surprised to see us and for once the weather did what we'd hoped it would do! #SheepofMastodon
@davetroy Great advice
A few recommendations for life on Mastodon:
1) Follow anyone you think looks potentially interesting; you can always unfollow later, and they may lead you to new people via boosted posts.
2) Boost posts you think are worthy, so others can discover new content.
3) Don't obsess on replicating your Twitter follows on Mastodon; let it be its own experience, and grow it organically. Obvs follow anyone you miss from Twitter, but this isn't a 1:1 replacement; have fun, follow your instincts.
I wonder if we can share that joke at EmacsConf lol
Hi everyone, time for an #Introduction: I'm a weather and climate scientist working at the #ECMWF office in Bonn, Germany.
My research is concerned with improving subseasonal-to-seasonal forecasts and climate reanalyses through better observations and modelling of the ocean and sea ice.
Looking forward to talking about science and maybe other topics on here 👋

The fact people think Zukerberg is a Genus, says a lot about their level of IQ.
re: Facebook incites violence and enables dictatorships. Facebook destroys democracies.
Facebook laid off about 10% of their workforce and is continuing to dump large amounts of money into their likely misguided metaverse plan.
They also have the same structural problem twitter now has, where Zuckerberg is a dictator who is not accountable to anyone.
He set up a 2 tier stock structure which gives him complete control over the company. Even though Facebook is allegedly public.
Tusky release plan
If you want to help, install Nightly or opt into beta. Report bugs, either here or on GitHub. I'm especially interested in everything that does not work in new features or in regressions (=something that worked in 19 but does no longer work). Please include the exact Tusky version, your Android version and the connected instance in all bug reports and be as detailed as possible. Screenshots and videos usually help a lot.
Interested in Technology, Science, Chemistry, Education, Fediverse, GNU/Linux and free software.
