I wonder how many folks out there know you can take just about any course at MIT for free.
They just post everything online after the in-person course is complete. Lectures, supplements, tests, everything.

What platform are you looking at using, peertube allows live streaming I think and will allow for interaction here too.

The bad people
Mastodon at 300k users:
"Sooner or later, the bad people will show up."
Mastodon at 8 million users:
"At a tiny userbase of 8 million, sure, there aren't bad people yet, but just wait. Once there's even more people here, that's when the bad people will show up."
My friends, consider the radical possibility that the bad people already have shown up, they ARE showing up, and they are already being dealt with.
The overt bad actors aren't the problem. They are easily dealt with.

"I want to do a dorky thing but I don't want people to think I am a dork": friends, just let that go. Let. It. Go. Do your dorky thing. Or don't! I recommend doing it, but it's up to you.
Anyone who ever went to a junior high dance knows that half-assing your dorky dance moves makes you look RIDICULOUS but flinging yourself into them is GREAT. Art is like that. Do your art.

Yeah, I don't see the point. However in the case of George Floyd having people record video / audio proved very useful. But that is different.
"Slow uptake of ad-supported offering", now why isn't that surprising, ads are a pain, they wreck continuity etc. I prefer to watch DVDs or on non commercial channels, I can watch a whole film without interruption.
One thing about ad breaks though fo longer films it does give a chance to refill drinks, grab more snacks or have a bathroom break.
Seems normal to do that now,

It's kinda weird when 8 out of 10 people watching the fireworks are using their phones to record it. It feels so surreal seeing them recording the fireworks instead of enjoying the moment.
Great stuff, some really nice developments coming.

A NASA science instrument in orbit will form the backbone of a new initiative to survey methane emissions from landfills in a new nonprofit project to track the greenhouse gas.
The new project, led by the nonprofit group Carbon Mapper, will use data collected from the International Space Station by NASA's EMIT to track methane, which according to NASA is the source of around a quarter to a third of human-driven global warming.
