im sorry. you havent switched on that laptop since april 27th? as any arch user would know if they were keeping up with the mailing lists, you've had ample time to apply the workarounds that cause trouble when the new key distribution patch mechanism attempts to recompile the kernel with non-vegan debug symbols
What's new in the upcoming #Mastodon version:
- Alt indicators
- Threaded lines natively! No more hacks.
- Follow buttons instead of follow icons
- Local and Federated are now combined as "Live feeds", under it there are tabs Local, Remote and All
- Direct messages are now "Private mentions"
- Three dot menu is now a burger
- Context menus are more clear
- Emoji menu is now slightly smiling instead of lol emoji
- Banner notification bars have now border radius and are more clearly visible with bold text
- Lists can now be accessed directly without the frustrating side step
- Admin user interface is more logical
- When replying, compose form has animated focus to clearly state it's appearing there
These are the ones I spotted for now! Perhaps there's more.
Please note the screenshot has #MastodonBirdUI enabled, it's not the official UI.

Thank you for the heads up, what we need now is another Creative commons category where we can say yes or no to our creations being used to train AI.
To anyone thinking about joining BlueSky, especially artists: everything you post is used to train generative AI models.
BlueSky uses AI to label content for moderation, and to do that they use a company called https://thehive.ai. If you look through their privacy policy, you will see that they use all content sent to them to train models for all their services, which include generative AI for both text and images.
It’s a built in “feature” and cannot be turned off.

For the people who insist on calling the GOP and/or fascists "stupid" over and above any other epithets:
the other day on The View (Hubs watches it, don't blame me), they ended up in an asinine debate over which politicians are "serious" (good) vs "stupid" (bad); the upshot was that they pretty much agreed that although Dick Cheney is an evil bastard and a war criminal, he was kinda OK because he's "intelligent," which is basically the same thing as being "serious."
Do you want fascism? Because this is how we get fascism.
Turns out, the only Micro USB cable I have left is from… a BlackBerry!
Mmmm! Low processor power, monochrome screen, clacky buttons. Perfect!
“I do not believe that infectious disease is an enormous threat to human health,” Kennedy added. The presidential hopeful stated that if he assumed office, he would target medical journals and redirect funding grants away from epidemiology.
It cannot be overstated how dangerous this guy would be to America, and the world if he was allowed to occupy the White House. He's a true monster.
What a load of BS, this guy is a total idiot, and as are those who believe this nonsense.
