BPA is banned in the UK and EU as far as I am aware due to the dangers presented.

The world is at a crossroads, with the shadows of authoritarianism looming large. Such a threat can be frightening, making the future incredibly unclear. In a landscape like this, knowledge is power. That's why I'm excited to share a recent conversation with historian, author, and expert on authoritarianism Ruth Ben-Ghiat.

From the political landscape in the United States to the rise of extremist movements, we talk about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead 👉 thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p

Title of a new Police single - "Don't drive so close to me"

Citizens of #NATO members should pay attention to the fact that #US MAGA republican extremists demanding support for #Ukraine be stopped are the same who support serial-criminal Trump and US withdrawal from NATO itself.

This isn't just a temporary diplomatic impasse between the US and Ukraine.

This is the first test in a long strategic web of measures by authoritarian sociopaths who are trying to burn down each and every bridge between free democracies.

Be aware. Speak out. #StandWithUkraine

@realTuckFrumper

Anyone else who attacks a judge would be put in PRISON for doing so.

Why is Trump still a free person, the law applies to everyone.

Someone needs to explain all this to OPEC simple language

I am disappointed a woman was not elected Speaker, but I am happy that we have our first ever Black Speaker of the (Canadian) House of Commons. Representation and visibility matter.

NEW: Scottish Labour's new headquarters have been linked to an EU-blacklisted tax haven.

The SNP have said the revelation is a 'bombshell' as the voters of Rutherglen and Hamilton West prepare to go to the polls.

It’s unfortunate (in a sense) that while temperatures were extreme this year (warmest in the instrumental record in many places), most of the US and Europe were spared so many will feel that this level of warming is no big deal.

@zleap @dexternemrod @TechNews i agree - actually i re-read my message and it was ambiguous.

What I meant was that I don't mind services that charge for a specific thing like removing advertising. But I wasn't saying that's my preference - reads like that but it isn't, apologies. Contributing to Fediverse server costs is also a v good model. Hope it's sustainable.

Either way, interoperability between many people is what I want to see - walled communities, free or not, don't help anyone.

I think the African nations want the money to go to nations struggling to cope with climate change, parts of southern europe got weather (heat) more akin to northern Africa for example.

End of the day it should be for AFRICA to decide how that money is spent, not for the Western nations who once saw africa as a colonial continent to dictate.

Of course if we don't stop using (or burning) oil parts of Africa will probably be unihnabitable, so the plan B could be that the populations of Africa most affected migrate to Europe (and elsewhere) (which is cooler) and the compensation is we grant santuary due to the fact we destroyed their homeland and they can't live there due to excessive heat.

Braverman may disagree, so she is welcome to be dropped off in 50+C heat if she is so confident that people can live there.
