I read the other day that many bird species are being renamed, due to the links between their current name and people they are named after being involved with the slave trade..
Perhaps we should look to people like Lise Meitner for inspiration for the new names of birds.

Euclid is a space telescope launched by ESA on July 1 this year. The Euclid team has released several beautiful pictures by Euclid. Magnificent.
My favourites are globular cluster NGC 6397 and the Perseus cluster. Amazing detail.

I think this is a problem with a good few companies, they are a disaster waiting to happen.

Quantum physics demonstrates that certain things change state when observed. Me, I change into an absolute moron apparently.
Given that NASA didn't even know if Ingenuity would work properly, it has done remarkably well eh/
Well done to the whole team behind this.

A 16 year old Black minor, David Sparks, served 15 years in prison because he called 911 when he saw a Philadelphia shooting in 2006.
Pennsylvania Judge Scott DiClaudio reversed his and FIVE OTHER murder convictions in a three-day period. “That’s gotta be a world record.”
Why?
#Philadelphia PD and DA withheld EXTENSIVE evidence and/or the detective was corrupt. The current DA has compared their behavior to “war crimes.”
SUE THEIR PANTS OFF.

@stux Yep, used that. And that, and similar to that. Acorn Atoms, occasionally, BBC micros a few times, ICL 1900 machines (mainframes) when I started work.
Used cassette tape to store on, floppies were a radical new idea.

@zleap leaves me speechless that this happens and so many are either unaware or shrug at this happening. Creates a lot of Internal tension about supporting that platform by using it, but at my own cost re losing useful professional contacts.
Sometimes morals and ethics HAS to trump everything.
This is why I am sharing,
If this was X we would not even be having this conversation as one or both of us would be banned probably.

Tommy Robinson and Katie Hopkins reinstated on X
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-67331288
More evidence that X is now a cesspit.
I will quote part of the article below for anyone not sure who the above people are
"Anti-Islam activist Tommy Robinson has had his account reinstated on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, was reinstated alongside political commentator Katie Hopkins.
Hopkins was banned in 2020 and Robinson's account was suspended in 2018 - Twitter accused both of breaking its rules on hateful conduct.

Just use a NORMAL manual door, some even have buttons to press to help open, or use a key to open.
Whjy does everything need to be connected to a phone, you are at the mercy of the phone app devs if they decide to end support you are stuffed.
