Ah, I thought the science people had called it that while they searched for more evidence it existed, they kind of knew it was there as iirc the Higgs Boson gives other particles mass (or something) I guess like giving the root user on a Unix type system the label god, you are all powerful, that can either fuel ego, or remind you that with great power comes responsibility and it is easy to destroy a system with a single command.

English physicist and mathematician James Prescott Joule died #OTD in 1818.
Joule studied the nature of heat, & discovered its relationship to mechanical work. This led to the law of conservation of energy, which in turn led to the development of the 1st law of thermodynamics. The SI derived unit of energy, the joule, is named after him. He worked with Lord Kelvin to develop an absolute thermodynamic temperature scale, which came to be called the Kelvin scale.
What went wrong? He was BORN
But we did call the Higgs Boson the God particle
