@zleap @sortius @passthejoe common misconception, a thing at some point we wanted to believe, but no, Bill Gates never said "640K of memory should be enough for anybody.", nor their variations:
https://www.wired.com/1997/01/did-gates-really-say-640k-is-enough-for-anyone/
Gates has said and done very bad things but that one by is not one of those.

Today in 1993, 30 years ago: Several bombs explode in Mumbai, India, killing about 300 people and injuring hundreds more.
So this seems to be what the UK government are doing with Migrants, making them ALL out to be criminals.
Quality popular science. A delightful book about biochemistry (narrowly focused on poisons) wrapped in true crime stories of their use. Despite the popular branding, the author doesn't oversimplify the chemistry. A reminder of how fascinating a machine the body is.

Meta exploring plans for Twitter rival
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-64917397
As we have been discussing this recently, just posting the BBC tech news report. Clearly at this stage we are not fully sure what Meta are planning to do.
I think what we CAN be sure of is:
Agressive marketing to get people to use their new platform
Early integration with things like Websites, word press
Algorithms that will help people find THEM and related software first
Speculation : Some sort of hidden agenda
And probably other tactics.
As a community we are strong, established, so we can counter this, by making sure integration works really well and we just carry on innovating and developing, but importantly spread the word.
In July of 1945, Vannevar Bush wrote to President Truman, responding to a request made by Roosevelt in 1944.
He submitted a report titled "Science the Endless Frontier." It outlined a plan for federal support of the sciences and the establishment of what would become the National Science Foundation.

Didn't Bill Gates once say that we won't need more than 640KB of memory :)

The way things are going the working day for these graduates will end up being midday, assuming employers are happy to put up with that and employ them.
I think perhaps we need to remember that the holocaust started with deportations and rounding up jews and hosing them in ghettos. Perhaps this is what Gary Lineker was getting at, as I am sure many people seem to link the holocaust with WWII as if it only happened during WWII, where as didn't persecution sart in the early 1930's.
I am not a historian in this area, and only know so much, so would welcome any correction to my thinking or understanding here.
A lot of people seem to think that any comparison between Nazi Germany in the 1930's and a "democratically elected government" is illegitimate.
I suggest they brush up on their history.
The Nazis came to power precisely because German people voted for them. They then removed legal rights, censored the media and disenfranchised or killed their enemies.
Sound familiar?
