Guix is the name of a package manager (GNU Guix) and a Linux distribution (GNU Guix System) that is designed around a few very specific goals but two of the big ones are: use only fully FOSS software, nothing proprietary; and use a functional package management system, which means packages are managed in a way that makes the result predictable and reproducible, and undoable (rollbacks).

Thing is, attacks on trans people work best when so-called moderates and progressives don’t care enough to stand up for us. But now we’re seeing conservatives massively overextend and, in the process, actively throwing a bunch of moderates and progressives onto trans folks’ side.

Our position remains clear. We will not back down on providing private, safe communications. We join with other encrypted messengers pushing back on the UK's flawed Online Safety Bill.

It is #NationalBabeRuthDay today!
In his MLB career, he hit 714 homeruns but his first professional homerun was hit in Toronto!
It happened on Sept. 5, 1914 when he played for the Providence Grays.

A tweak in the operations of #NASA's #Voyager2 spacecraft should allow instruments to remain running for several more years. Declining power from the spacecraft's RTG would have required the project to shut down an instrument this year. Engineers instead decided to turn off a voltage regulator, freeing up power it had been using for the instruments. With the voltage regulator off, there should be enough power to operate all the current instruments to at least 2026.

Most people don't care if you're transgender or non-binary. They care about who you are, not what you are. Remember that Republicans are a dying breed. The fascists, the white supremacists, the Christian nationalists— they're all completely outnumbered by every day folks who reject prejudice and discrimination. We will annihilate their hate and leave zero ideological space left for them. I know times are fucking insanely tough right now. But this far-right movement is destined to implode and its followers will eat each other alive (their leaders already are). Fascism is an ouroboros. Let's hold out and fight. We've still got a lot more work to do.
