Remember that 0-click Outlook vulnerability with a custom sound leading to NTLM theft? The one that MSFT themselves stated it originated and was being actively used by Russian actors?

@nachoskrnl found a way to bypass the patch to it. By adding one singular slash.

What can be worse is a toddler with a toy car, moving car across keyboard pressing random keys, while you are doing stuff.

When you are in the file manager having the delete key then enter pressed is a BAD idea.

I didn't understand those acrylic keyboard covers. But through the power of advertising I think I get it now.

A few years ago, I made a presentation in LibreOffice impress about Mastodon. Fast forward to today and the eco system has changed.

1. As people point out Mastodon is NOT the only service
2. We should refer to the Fediverse and not a single service
3. I think it WAS useful to people

While I shared this, I want to re-do it so it reflects the fediverse better, so looking to :

1. Make it about fediverse
2. Briefly cover Activity Pub (given this is aimed at the users not techy people)
3. Cover a few of the services such as
Mastodon, Peertube, Pixelfed, WriteFreely,

Explain that posts on one can share (federate) with the others.

I will share once done, then as a community we can take it from there.

I like the fact, that on here developers take the time to ask for, and listen to feedback, so we can improve the services offered.

There has been incidents where big tech has made big changes then faced a barrage of objections, forcing a u-turn. So by engging there is less risk of this.

Keep up the good work, You are all doing a great job.

I'm working to improve the @pixelfed mobile app onboarding.

It will probably be seen as more controversial than the Mastodon app.

I'm okay with that.

Some people claim we're emulating popular platforms as if it's a bad thing, like we're selling user data or building communities without safety and moderation.

Ignore them, growth isn't a bad thing, we need to make the #fediverse easy to join, and moderate!

Every fedi project emulates an existing service, nothing is new lol

We should care about what happens on mainstream as it can easily be a pre-cursor to the next wave of problems, we can see it there first and take pre-emptive action here. at least.
