My current desktop is 2nd hand, so I got taht before 2017, probably say 2015, I think i have had about 5 PCs since 1992.
Thanks to GNU/Linux they keep going until they pretty much give up.
My netbook is about the same, got that free from the school too, as I rescued a whole stack of them
They are also getting old and slow, but still usable as my demands are not huge.
Hopefully Deb12 will be happy running everything, but I do feel that I need a new computer.

Most of #Canada is covered in smoke from raging fires, and yet a percentage of our population still refuses to see the scientific truth. Unreal.
Calling it a war crime is all we ever seem to do, until we take some sort of action to bring those responsible to justice and swiftly they will just carry on knowing full well they can get away with it.

Scientists, would you rather get a pushy, confident referee report? Or one that gently, even timidly suggests changes to your paper?
(My referee writing style seems to be timid, polite suggestions with lots of "please"s and compliments thrown in. Not sure if that's cool or not. But hey, the whole journal-referee process is totally whacked, so whatever.)
