No corporate social media was created for this, if we go back to the 90s there was surely far less corporate and far more academic content on the net.

Missouri couple who filmed themselves at Capitol riot are charged more than 2 years later https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/crime/article276600436.html
I can see OceanGate being indited on at least 5 felony charges on the deaths of 5 people alone, that is before we look at the fact they were warned and warned their vehicles were NOT SAFE, the CEO may have perished, but other directors are still alive and the board members are mean to hold the CEO to account (or that is how I understand things).
This company is clearly reckless in many ways. I just hope charges are brought so other tragedies can be avoided in the future.

A 19-year-old was among the five men who perished in the terrifying submarine tragedy. I simply can't find a joke here, maybe because it just fucking happened.

When I first started using a telephoto lens to photograph teeny tiny leeetle birds I felt like I was being transported into a magical miniature world. Today took me right back to those wonder filled first experiences, but with a bit more technique to back it up. It looks like this superb fairy-wren is standing watch over a little fairy garden. #birds #birdphotography #nature

HOW TO SPOT A RIP CURRENT:
IT'S WHERE THE WATER LOOKS EASIEST AND SAFEST, with no waves breaking or rolling in.
NEVER ENTER THE SEA HERE.
If you get caught in a rip, DON'T FIGHT IT. You can't swim back to shore against it; you will become exhausted and drown.
Instead, SWIM ACROSS IT, parallel to shore. You'll soon be out of the current and can then easily swim back.
Boost, please, and make sure your friends and family know this when they hit the beach.

"Thousands of rock art pictures depicting huge Ice Age creatures such as mastodons have been revealed by researchers in the Amazon rainforest.
The paintings were probably made around 11,800 to 12,600 years ago, according to a press release from researchers at Britain’s University of Exeter.
The paintings are set over three different rock shelters, with the largest, known as Cerro Azul, home to 12 panels and thousands of individual pictographs."

Meta joining the fedi is going to be interesting, their selling point is that celebs and I assume brands will be able to reach out to people on here, to allow fans of cele x to follow them.
Problem is, if we decide to block meta, then that marketing idea is clearly flawed. As that won't happen.
As I have said we have our own community on here, they are not celebs in the sense of famous musicians or influencers, they are conducting cutting edge research, as in doing something useful. Many are here BECAUSE they don't feel safe on Meta or Twitter.
The level of conversation on here, as a result is far higher.

I’m just remembering the time FB killed a bunch of small media companies by pretending that its video engagement was through the roof.
And the time they non-consensually experimented with only showing awful things to certain users to see if it would isolate and depress them (it did).
And the time they hosted the livestream of a mass shooting hate crime.
And the time they enabled a genocide.
Or Cambridge Analytica. JFC remembering facts and events is not hard.

@lucifargundam @zleap @RadicalEdward @freemo I pledge to keep the amount of our reputation high! (As long as it's not much work)
I know the issues of Taxation is important BUT I would rather have a tax system that allows proper investment than lower taxes and having to see things cut.
HOWEVER every penny that gets invested MUST be accounted for and wastage must be reduced, so money is then spent wisely and where needed.
Services cost money, and need to be paid for.
Could the fediverse in playing a part in addressing this?

Female artists' work is a fraction of what's displayed in museums, but that's not due to a lack of women in art. https://t.co/aSoGWSP3Vr

Good morning all #tzag As a new working week begins may we go out with a heart that puts others first. May we show love to all we come across today and thank everyone who plays a part in our lives, especially those who do tasks that so often go unnoticed. May we be people who show others that they are appreciated and valued #BeExcellentToEachOther
