“British Petroleum, the second largest non-state owned oil company in the world, with 18,700 gas and service stations worldwide, hired the public relations professionals Ogilvy & Mather to promote the slant that climate change is not the fault of an oil giant, but that of individuals. It’s here that British Petroleum, or BP, first promoted and soon successfully popularized the term “carbon footprint” in the early aughts.”

For Tyre Nichols, justice demands
His life they stole with brutal hands
His death brings indictment
For five police men, caught
They'll pay for their cruel commands

Created by low-Earth orbit #satellites reflecting sunlight, all of these streaks were captured in less than two hours and digitally combined onto the single featured image.

Understanding and removing the effects of #satellite trails on images from Earth's ground-based cameras and telescopes is now important not only for elegant #astrophotography, but for humanity's scientific understanding of the distant #universe.

Time to celebrate? …far too many people are still dying from this treatable disease.

The clear link between early detection and improved survival has made #ML models predicting #Sepsis one of the most common use cases in Clinical Decision Support #CDS

I agree this needs more research, there was a lot of excitement when phosphine was found on Venus for example.

but yeah if we can find more evidence of life, through related molecules we can perhaps aim different sensors in that direction and gather more data.

I *fully* appreciate this is an 'early finding', that needs more investigation and corroboration, but I still cannot help to be excited by it!

A molecule that, at least on Earth, is only produced by living organisms has possibly been detected on a distant exoplanet (along with CO2 and methane, pointing at water oceans).

What is an American bully XL and should they be banned?

bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66775985

Are dogs actually to blame here, or is it how that dog is raised and treated during life. ? So perhaps in some cases it is a human issue, some dogs are bred to fight, again it needs humans to facilitate the process so they get the traits required.

just heard a lot of crows yelling their little lungs out, looked to see what they were up to because I assumed it was some sort of territorial war.

anyway turns out they were playing a game where they hop up and down the branches of a cedar tree and having fun as a gang.

Maybe @AbandonedAmerica can help with this, I will boostf in case anyone else can helpo.

You need to stop using Chrome NOW. It’s not hyperbole: Google just rolled out a change to Chrome that tracks the sites you visit, builds a profile, and shares that with any page you visit that asks.

This is real. It’s not tech bro conspiracy shit.

In 1916, 23 yr old chemist Alice Ball discovered a breakthrough in treatment for Leprosy (Hansen’s Disease). She was the 1st woman & 1st Black chemistry professor at UHawaii.

Tragically, Ball passed away months after her discovery due to complications from a lab accident.

What happened next? Arthur Dean, head of her dept, continued the work publishing Ball’s process as “Dean’s method.”

Fortunately, a colleague spoke up & the name was changed to “Ball’s method.” #HistoryRemix #science #history

according to this, the game started with golf balls,

So i guess it is what ever golf balls were made of back then. Interestingly if bats had rubber on them, then perhaps at some point balls were made of rubber too.
