Adaptive radiation in this lake occurred only 16 kya and was so rapid because of a repeating process of hybridization and specialization.

Cycles of fusion and fission enabled rapid parallel adaptive radiations in African cichlids science.org/doi/10.1126/scienc

Isn't this ILLEGAL under international law, oh yeah, that does not apply to the USA does it.

United States involvement in regime change in Latin America

And rejects the refugees of US foreign politics of regime change, US-backed coup d'états which were aimed at replacing left-wing leaders with right-wing leaders, military juntas, or authoritarian regimes.

From the #USA:

“The Kids Online Safety Act has gained support from right-wing groups that want to crack down on LGBTQ content, and now Senator Elizabeth Warren.”

This combination of forces exists in the UK for same reasons. Beware what they ask for as the OSB proceeds.

Can Pres Biden issue one of those executive orders to repeal what ever law is in place to build the wall ?

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas rebuffed growing criticism over his decision to approve the construction of more than a dozen miles of border walls along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Biden administration tells CBS News it "was bound by law to follow through with the project."

IIRC tires (tyres in British English) are made from rubber, which comes from Oil, so we are reliant on Oil either way, so is this dust from running cars on roads or as a result of old tyres breaking down.

There are ways to recycle, we just don't do so at scale.

@adiz @yogthos

And the cost to the environment ot just extracting Lithium is huge and we are facing a fresh water crisis

@yogthos@mas.to Great, so automobile manufactures and the entire automotive industry and the West's systemic addiction to it are killing the planet the more ways than one!

Don't worry, though! Just buy electric cars, right?

Tire dust makes up the majority of ocean microplastics, study finds. Researchers say tire emissions pose a threat to global health, and EVs could make the problem worse.

Surely even the private sector needs people who can think, debate, be critical of thinking and come up with solutions and have the technical ability to solve those problems and eventually do so at scale.

@inventor @yogthos @jackofalltrades @WahbAllat@mas.to @AlfredJH

Well yeah, but there are some good universities undertaking vital work, I think the whole education system is a mess to be honest

We need to get back to teaching people how to think, critical thinking, and those skills are essential before entering uni

In the US you can definitely get arrested for having a baseball bat in the trunk of your car. It is common advice to also have a glove in the trunk with the bat as that can be used to demonstrate that it is a sporting goods item and not a weapon.
Any sort of knuckles, even plastic ones, are also prohibited in many states.
It's a shitshow here.
