So a nation that has engaged in an unrelenting war crime (annexing and settling rather than returning territory seized militarily in a war that ended over half a century ago), and in so many additional individual war crimes against civilians that even its own courts have called them wrong, is now the victim of unspeakable war crimes (attacks on and kidnappings of civilians) by one of the victims of the above, and is responding with more war crimes (targeting civilians, cutting off supplies needed by civilians).
I think this is one of those situations where everyone else on the planet should (a) urge both sides to stop war criming, (b) send massive humanitarian aid, and (c) otherwise, stay the fuck out of it, without taking sides.

I think we have similar issues in the Uk people there just to take selfies so they can share their pathetic life on Social media, as if the rest of the world cares about what they do.
We had some wonderful camping experiences at Bon Echo. But our last one was unenjoyable, because too many asshole campers occupy the park now. People that are just there to party, and don’t care about the camping experience.
Selfish people that ruin it for everyone.
Do they know the difference between Palestinians and Hamas?
@zleap
Indeed.
But that still does not matter much for my story.
Hamas is suppressing their own Palestinian civilians worse than Israel does. Hamas is pure evil. While Israel has been providing food, energy, water, and medical aid to Gaza.
It will cost the lives of the very people who are denied a vote to remove Hamas. I am sure from comments here, that a vast majority just want to co-exist peacefully.
As someone old enough to remember the 1972 Olympic kidnappings of the Israeli athletes, I'm not surprised to hear this announcement. Hostages will not deter Israel - they will kill them as well if needed.. Sigh.
Israel has made a strategic decision - the attacks on Gaza will be conducted even if it costs the lives of the hostages.

Sounds good,
Agreed,
"While it is true that Israel’s intelligence failures allowed Hamas to catch them off guard, it is also the result of a failure of imagination, empathy, and basic decency. It is a failure to comprehend that a people cannot be expected to endure decades of occupation stoically and passively."
"It is essential to recognize that the siege itself is a provocation. Forcing people to live in an open-air prison — a deliberate act of keeping an entire population in a state of constant vulnerability — is itself a form of violence. What is driving the escalation that we are seeing now is the fact that we Palestinians are fed up with living under constant conditions of occupation and colonization. These are the issues that need to be addressed for any meaningful resolution to occur."
We're thankful for this US humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, but with no water, power & protection from the military assault, it may not make a difference, ICYM: Under the radar, US approves release of $75M aid to Palestine:
The media seem to be confusing Hamas with Palestinians in that to the media the are all as one.
They need to make it clear that Palestinians live under Hamas, and have been denied elections since 2007 (i think i read 2007).
As we suspected: Egyptian Intelligence Minister called Netanyahu ten days before Hamas attack and warned him of "something unusual, a terrible operation" that was about to take place from Gaza.
Egyptians were "surprised by the indifference shown by Netanyahu". — Yedioth Ahranoth
This doesn't seem to be making news here,
Given the warnings about mis information, are there other sources can people here on Fedi help to ensure this is accurate before we share further?
Cool
"Bioluminescent Fungi"
Mushrooms that glow in dark, found in Brazil and Vietnam. Glow is result of an interaction between a compound called luciferin and luciferase enzyme in presence of oxygen. There are roughly 80 species of bioluminescent fungi scattered throughout the world.
History of fungal bioluminescence begins with Aristotle in 4th Century BC. For almost two millennia, this incredible phenomenon remained little studied in the literature. #Fungi
