Facebook is scared of alternative platforms

@zleap Yup, there's definitely more to it, the content of the world we want to make is important too.

I just wanted to keep the quote short and pithy.

Everyone here on Fedi wants to be free.

There's simply disagreements over the definition of "free".

Pre-disclosure: we are planning a coordinated security release of several Matrix clients starting ~1pm UK (UTC+1) Monday Sept 13th to address a critical vuln. We have no evidence of it being exploited in the wild, but please be sure to upgrade on Mon! https://matrix.org/blog/2021/09/10/pre-disclosure-upcoming-critical-fix-for-several-popular-matrix-clients

Developer stances I just don't understand:

- Don't care about open source
- Don't care about tech ethics
- Don't actually enjoy coding
- Don't think about privacy
- Don't love to learn
- Can easily turn-off "work" problem solving and interests after hours

There are some contingencies and some contradictions in there, and possibly a red flag, but that's what is in my head.
