The quality of games made by China these days is so high it's scary.
The transition from cutscene to ingame is too natural and too cool.

Looks like FB put me in the penalty box for 24 hours for saying something their shitty AI didn't approve of.

> Still, can we be surprised that after years of being told they are the problem, that their manhood is the problem, more and more men are withdrawing into the enclave of idleness, and pornography, and video games.

Huh, I was just doing it because I'm lazy/chaotic/disobedient, horny, and like games. Destroying the fundamentalists' idea of what "masculine" is, is a completely incidental bonus.

@ajroach42 In retrospect, one of the most regrettable parts of the "PC revolution" is how much wheel-reinvention happened due to disconnects between large systems people and micro/PC people.

E.g. the high watermark of hardware-enforced security in operating systems is arguably still Multics…developed 1964-67. Just one example.

So much knowledge from the development of large multiuser systems was ignored or not known to PC developers, and we now live with the consequences.

It's frustrating when a 10 year old computer can't get on facebook or watch 480p on youtube anymore, even thought it could five years ago.

The computer hasn't changed.

Facebook and youtube have become more complicated. They didn't need to, but they could get more complicated because the average computer got faster, and the average internet connection got faster over that time span.

So a computer that could do X lost it's ability to do X as a result of a third party.

That's frustrating.

Renewables are not going to save us from 1.5℃ warming, they will come too late. Same for nuclear, same for CCS. Reducing energy consumption must be the absolute priority.

#comfyclub please note that due to DST ending in Europe the UTC time for things has changed - things will take place at 21:15 UTC
for yurops that means things happen at the same local time
but anyone outside that might be out by 1hr
