The Myth:

Nobody wants to work.

The Truth:

People aren’t lazy,
they are burned out and taking healthier opportunities.

Employee retention is an EMPLOYER issue, not a
EMPLOYEE problem.

Encourage your children to develop their global working memory capacity by disabling DNS on their devices and forcing them to remember the IPv4 addresses of their favorite services.

At least I stand a chance of remembering IPv4 addresses, IPv6 ones may as well be a random string of 32 hexadecimal characters. Nobody's got time to memorize those.

anyway i can now connect a wireless headset to my turntable to enjoy a recording distorted by vinyl wear, dust, as well as BT audio compression 🎉

actually it sounds alright

I think all those “How to Mastodon” articles are going about it all wrong. They start by explaining federation and talking about how to choose a server. Yes that’s the first step but it’s also where we lose people. Just put that aside. Start by talking about how you use Mastodon, all the great apps, the culture, etc. Then end with the first step, that “all you have to do is pick a server to get started” and explain how. You have to hook a fish before you can reel it in.
