Security compliance questionnaire:

Q: What is your process if someone stole your laptop?

A: Well, it is running Linux, so I suspect I'd have to run after them to offer them the source code for quite a lot of it.

Apparently that's *not* the answer they wanted.

It's always weird when someone tells me they don't like one of my toots. Like, what do they think I'm going to do? Delete it because they didn't agree with it??

If you don't like something, move on. Unless it's some kind of moral issue that you feel deeply about, why are you bothering???

@zleap Thank you for your comments Paul. I agree. It definitely affects us all! I hope we stop this clown soon!

CLASS DOCS LEAKER!

Watch this breaking news alert from ABC News on the identity of the recent classified documents leaks.

It is a male, in his mid 20's, goes by OG, loves guns, and is seen on video yelling racist and antisemitic statements - a classic Russian Republican or Trump Clown 🤡

@Alan I think it points out the arrogance of ignorance of mankind, believing we are the supreme beings while ignoring our total dependence on our internal and external ecosystem, of which we understand so little.

@zleap @Tilopa that’s why we need a new system that doesn’t allow them to take those documents without it being tracked. There’s no excuse for us not even knowing what’s missing

@zleap @Tilopa yes now is under Biden admin but the documents at his garage were from Obama presidency. Pence had some too. I’d bet a few others have some also. So far they’ve only been found in ex president & ex VP possession so the problem isn’t access but rather the system for managing them. If we aren’t gonna dispose of them automatically then we need a heavily monitoring system. They have to be viewed in completely private settings. Security should be same afterward.

Our latest research shows @Office365 offers surveillance features that allow employers to read all users communication without their knowledge.

NPR is leaving Twitter but they are planning to focus on Instagram

We need to tell them to join the Fediverse

Many of their journalists’ accounts, as well as their main account, haven’t been active on mastodon. Tell them how much we need them here. (In fact, they should have their own instance)

Use the link, tell NPR we are waiting for them here and spread the word far and wide:

The spy clause in the Online Safety Bill (UK) introduces scanning of our private messages.

It gives Ofcom powers to make private services install monitoring technology that meets Home Office 'approved standards.' This software will undermine encryption.

Here's why we need to resist the attack on our privacy. #StopTheSpyClause
