Some people claim we're emulating popular platforms as if it's a bad thing, like we're selling user data or building communities without safety and moderation.

Ignore them, growth isn't a bad thing, we need to make the #fediverse easy to join, and moderate!

I suck at networking -because Im a laboratory scientist who mostly keeps to himself- and need some advice on two fronts:
1. How do I get more involved in local political activism? As in, how do I meet people and remain in contact with them?

Besides observing the physical structure of protoplanetary disks, astrophysicists also use spectrum analysis to identify the chemical structure of the material in the disks.
Here are some images of the spectral analysis of 5 such disks done by the Molecules with ALMA at Planet-forming Scales (MAPS). The study identified large reservoirs
of nitriles and other organics in the inner disk regions, and elevated C/O ratios across most disks.
