A federal judge has ruled Florida’s ban on gender-affirming care for minors is likely unconstitutional and has issued an injunction halting enforcement of the ban.

Happy Pride, and thank you, federal judiciary!

George Takei tells Target,

"Welcome to our lives.

LGBTQ+ people are facing attacks and threats as never before. Our identities are being erased from classrooms, our gatherings and festivals are being targeted by armed militias, and our children are being singled out and denied life saving, gender affirming medical care."

"But in response to the threats to your stores, you did something that we in the community cannot do. You see, we can’t simply pull our identities and our lives off the shelves. We can’t just take the rainbow flags down, hoping these monsters leave us alone.

In fact, we know they won’t….

Bullies are the same the world round, and they must be dealt with the same.

You cannot give them what they want, because they will only come back, demanding more."

It was 79 years ago today that antifa forces invaded the beaches of Normandy to defeat the Nazis.

Let us remember their sacrifices by not allowing modern Nazis to take power, no matter what country you are in.

If you need to move between #Mastodon instances and would like to keep your posts (including attached images and video), you can do that with #MastodonContentMover

It's a command-line tool that saves your posts from your current instance to your computer, and then reposts them to your new instance. It's in development, but an early test version is available.

You can download the tool and find out more at http://mastodoncontentmover.github.io

This one file helped me many many times. Whenever some software or a website requires an image but I don't have one or don't want to use one I use this blank file.

A transparent gif works sometimes as well;)

1. In 2023, conservative activists have advanced the theory that "woke" corporations are pushing a radical, pro-LGBTQ agenda

But a Popular Information investigation reveals 25 rainbow flag-waiving corporations have donated $13.5 million to anti-gay politicians since Jan 2022

I had to find a couple of papers for one of my students to review and I just looked at all the new papers on satellite observations and predictions for satellite pollution and now I am super depressed.

What's currently playing out in Low Earth Orbit is the worst parts of capitalism, on fast-forward (literally at several km/s if you want to get technical...) It's so bad. Orbit needs strong, international regulation 20 years ago.

It’s very exciting that Apple is unveiling its extended-reality play this morning, but a reminder to all devs and enthusiasts: this will be beta software. Before installing, be sure to do a full backup of your current reality.

For decades, scientists thought the only place to find supermassive black holes was in the center of massive galaxies.

But now, weirdly huge black holes have shown up in the universe's tiniest galaxies — amd in rare cases, black holes have been kicked from their homes into intergalactic space.

Okay so is it going to be isocial.com? social.me? me.social? icloud.social?

#Apple just released a beginners guild to #Mastodon ahead of #WWDC which is very strange timing indeed

It mentions @ivory, @MonaApp, @mannyapp and a bunch of other client apps but doesn't mention the #fediverse at all!

ht to @butter for finding this!
