Good morning y'all

For those that weren't aware, IEMBot from Iowa State has come to the Fediverse officially. I'll leave it up to the bot maintainers whether or not they would rather continue running their own version which many of you are most likely already following.

Either way, the list of the bots maintained on the Fediverse by IA State can be found from the official site here mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/proj

I appreciate all the bot maintainers. Thanks for all y'all have done! ❤️🤗

"Compliance doesn't equal security."
Wait up.
It's time for cybersecurity practitioners to change that conversation.
Try this.
"Compliance doesn't equal OPTIMAL security...
But...
Compliance is far more secure than non-compliance.
And...
Compliance is an essential starting point for liability and insurance reasons.

@zleap From what I understand, the most cases are currently in Florida. Considering the current mess going on with DeSantis... take your pick?

@zleap Vaccinations. Or the lack thereof. Same as with other diseases which should have been prevented so easily.

The problem with "getting a WWII history book" is it would show that the #USA and #UK funded and gave rise to the nazi regime back then to mine Europe and to be a bulwark against #theRussians, and they were able to do it the same thing again in Ukraine.

Everyone who is not blinded by greed knows what is going on.

Just because some are too afraid to understand, don't think that the #globalMajority are.

We really, really need white men to be proactive in pointing out to other white men when they do this.

That's something as rare as this problem is common.

Liking and boosting posts, and waiting for a non-white male to take the lead before "joining in", isn't the necessary act you think it is.

We appreciate the show of support, but your direct and immediate action is required to reduce the frequency of this problem.

In advance, thank you.

Why is Leprosy on the rise in the US? This is a condition mentioned in the bible, we should be able to avoid it in 2023.

Unless people are so brainwashed by the bible lot, they think they are immune as they have faith in god.

Finally, my article about Fediverse has been translated into English! Once again, kudos to @evan , @kokan , @thomas , @Decad3nce, and @atomicpoet for providing me wonderful insight into the world of Fediverse.

I am truly happy some of my colleagues and friends decided to check out Mastodon after this article, and again truly sorry I couldn't fit all the superb answers I got from everyone.

Thank you for helping the cause! ✊

Do you have any links or resources for someone dealing with survivor's guilt?

has the US ever tried their own soldiers for war crimes? the closest i can think of is the nisour square massacre, which btw the perpetrators were unconditionally pardoned by trump

As I don’t have the deep pockets that a lot of retro collectors have, I tend to buy stuff that’s broken or in generally bad condition because it’s cheaper - my recent streak though has netted me a bunch of machines in pretty good condition, some even boxed, and (excluding some Rifa caps) have all worked perfectly #RetroComputing

The BBC starting a fedi server is a good step and a pretty big deal. Only using it for BBC staff is the right move. If they should decide to host randoms they should do it from a different domain anyway.

Will be interesting to see how their six month experiment proceeds. How their moderation of replies works and how they'll report or defed other servers as required.

Will Facebook turn on federation before the experiment is over?

Hope it goes well and they continue afterwards and indefinitely. Be nice to them everyone.

Random fun fact: *moss* (that green stuff you see growing on things outside) has photovoltaic properties. It can be used to actually generate electricity.

Here's a nice article about that:

Literal green technology.

@zleap That is one of the best things that could happen to the world right now.

@zleap Oh he won't accept defeat. At best, he could be convinced to retreat so he can try another day, and even that possibility grows smaller as he knows he's getting old and to the end of his life.

Either he gets ousted/killed at home by his own, dies from illness/old age, is killed by the enemy, or he keeps trying to reclaim and expand territory .
