@fullyabstract FWIW, Orlando is not Tallahassee.
Our town is inclusive and covered in pride flags. I have a progress pride flag waving over my front door right now, just east of downtown Orlando, and the touristy areas are even more welcoming.
We voted against this bullshit. Orlando, Tampa, and Miami are the resistance. We have a trans population here and LGBTQ outreach organizations and a killer pride parade. You definitely should not feel unsafe in these cities (at least no more so than any other city).
That said, I understand if you still don't want to.

For the same reasons, my library owns "The black academic's guide to winning tenure--without losing your soul" in print, but not as an e-book. It was published by a small press. and at the time we wanted to buy the ebook, they didn't work with any of the ebook vendor platforms we used.
But books in the large ebook packages to which we subscribe? They end up in the catalog and discovery layer without local selection/curation... (cont)
A great walk - just over 15 miles. After a not very promising start with drizzle & low cloud, the sun really came through (in fact I’ve even got a bit sunburnt 🙄).
From the high moor, down into the wooded dart valley, crossing the river a couple more times, to Ashburton, one of my favourite local towns. Found a lovely frock in a vintage shop while waiting for my bus ☺️.
@bullivant @samueljohnson @ColmDonoghue It strikes me that the political system in the UK rewards the creation of the disparity, while the Irish system works against it. The leader in Ireland needs to reward all areas somewhat, while in the UK whole regions can be punished because they’re electorally of no value.
I was poking around on here and came across an #AskMeAbout post.
Basically, the idea behind this hashtag is that you make a post listing a few topics that you know a lot about and are willing to chat about with other people.
So many times my clients and my connections associate me with one particular thing that I have helped them with, but that’s not all the things that I do, or all the things that I am an “expert” on.
So here are my top three #AskMeAbout topics:

Interesting new resource for law students in hybrid JD programs.
“The book is designed so that it can be assigned by a professor for first year online law students.
“It’s drafted with weekly reading that’s tailored to what a first semester law student will need…
The book also includes a QR code that will allow students to join a LinkedIn group created for those in online law programs.”

The picture of my son and the eclipse glasses in thumbnail for the video being premiered tomorrow is NOT photoshopped. I put it around the neck cushion of his car seat.
See the thumbnail today, watch the video tomorrow, practice safe solar viewing soon after!

#Slavery in biblical and ancient societies had many variations. But it’s clear that slavery during those eras was as horrific, just like the 19th-century transatlantic slave trade, according to the historical and archeological evidence.
