This is the least that a country taking emissions seriously and tackling them fairly would do:
Tax private jet flights fairly and phase out kerosene private jets
https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/641289
1 in 10 flights from UK airports are private jet flights, but they pay almost no tax.

Amazon is the devil and all, but I’m glad the devil was able to deliver a care package to my ailing parents. I sent them a bunch of supplies while they’re laid up with COVID. They live in rural PEI, and I don’t know how else I could get them the things they need.

Please do vote if you're in the US. Literally every school board/director up for us had a book burning type running, some more subtle than others.

Vote for the people who don't want to criminalize renters
Vote for the people who want more unions and cooperatives
Vote for the people who want to make roads more accessible to bikes & pedestrians
Vote for the people who want to feed your kids at school
Vote for the people who want to defend our trans brothers & sisters
voting is harm reduction. it's the minimum to do. so go out and vote against the fascists
Following a conversation on here I am asking for some help to work out what products are produced from crude oil and how we can produce alternatives.
https://www.personaljournal.ca/paulsutton/products-from-crude-oil
I am throwing this out to the community to between us we can start to gather information and present this so we can make a better argument to reduce and eliminate our need for crude oil.
Granted some products are going to need some R&D to replace, but maybe that will inspire people to study STEM and undertake that research.

A local native tribe has joined the protest, taking to the water in a traditional Coastal Salish Canoe to Block The Boat!
Additional kayaks and other small vessels are reportedly in position to disrupt access to the port.

An American nurse is forced to flee Gaza where colleagues and their families have been killed, amputees and burn victims are forced out of hospitals, and the civilian population has run out of food and water.
Is this really the right way to fight Hamas?
I am using vokoscreen-ng to take screen videos. (don't know correctt term sorry)
In the settings the key to start is to press STRG and another key Any idea what this means please.

@zleap Yep, pin it once you've done that. It may not get a *lot* of extra views, but it will get some, as I have seen from my own pinned posts.
OK, bed calls. I'd like to thank you for the great exchange over the last few hours. Very much thought-provoking. Thank you :-)

@zleap They are, and that's *great*! :-) Some countries are withdrawing ambassadors, which is a good step too.
Something similar could be done for climate action, perhaps. Greta has a voice.
Honestly, however, I am not optimistic. The money involved is eye watering (ie, fossil fuel profits), and corporate leverage is deeply ingrained in most countries.

The father of the kid who complained is a school board candidate so he is messing with a teacher's career to elevate his visibility in his school board race.

@zleap Very much so, tragically. But I see no *real* sign that anyone is working to do anything meaningful. Quite the opposite.

@zleap I have a post with the linked pinned to my profile. Whatever helps to get it spread.

@zleap Exactly! In the last decades, most conflicts boil down to money, and usually fossil fuels.
Sickening!
