We’re on track for the hottest year on record in 2023.

Temperature peak in October follows four months in succession of exceptional weather.

NEW: Mississippi voters were left in line for hours as election officials printed new ballots after at least 9 Hinds County polling places ran out.

Local officials attribute the shortages in Mississippi's largest county to unexpectedly high turnout.

There is no age limit to study at Uni, or to do a PhD. Actually, very often the "mature students" do much better than the young ones.

The problem is not age per se, the problem is that to study you need time and (depending on the country you are in) money. And especially time is hard to come by when you are older.

But don't let age be what stops you from studying, if you want to study.

I’m old enough to remember the first TED talk.

It was most excellent.

I come from a generation of computer nerds that got suspicious when a single character appeared where it didn't belong. "Stop everything we must have a virus". Our little Commodores didn't even have important info in them.

People installing apps at will on their personal devices that include banking / biometric details, is mind blowing to me.

WhatsApp is the most advanced virus spyware malicious code ever made. People install it *willfully* I have lost a lot of connections because I refuse to.

Inputting and editing text on a touchscreen: still the absolute worst.

They're just about usable for sending a quick text message or a social media comment but the experience of using on-screen keyboards is atrocious. And it seems to get worse not better.

It utterly baffles me that people willingly write out pages and pages of text on phones when computing devices with keyboards exist.

Euclid is a space telescope launched by ESA on July 1 this year. The Euclid team has released several beautiful pictures by Euclid. Magnificent.

My favourites are globular cluster NGC 6397 and the Perseus cluster. Amazing detail.

Quantum physics demonstrates that certain things change state when observed. Me, I change into an absolute moron apparently.

A 16 year old Black minor, David Sparks, served 15 years in prison because he called 911 when he saw a Philadelphia shooting in 2006.

Pennsylvania Judge Scott DiClaudio reversed his and FIVE OTHER murder convictions in a three-day period. “That’s gotta be a world record.”

Why?

#Philadelphia PD and DA withheld EXTENSIVE evidence and/or the detective was corrupt. The current DA has compared their behavior to “war crimes.”

SUE THEIR PANTS OFF.
