@silmathoron @mark @judeswae I don't think we'll ever really compete with LinkedIn. Nor do wo want to. Because that most likely requires copying behaviour, features or businessmodels that we really don't want.
Instead, we'd like to be a free, friendly and federated complementary service.
For some, we may be enough. Others will want to use us alongside LinkedIn. Not an either/or but for you to choose.
And thanks for the mention!

#Matrix (federated IM/chat system) has an experimental new feature for reply threading. Some devs turned this into a way to replicate a #Twitter-like per-user timeline with post replies. I hope they also build an #ActivityPub bridge.

Just tested https://flathub.org/apps/search/fluffychat on my desktop. It's brilliant. Also it's quite upsetting that it's not available for arm64, because it would scale perfectly and be a great app for the #PinePhone.

Just found some more videos on https://peertube.social/videos/watch/20536d77-ba30-45fa-bc47-370e8c0152f2
This one mentions ActivityPubConf, 2020, it would be great to have some info on when the next one is, so it can be promoted, this looks really interesting.

@hansw
Pretty good idea. And with the advent of https://owncast.online and PeerTube livestreaming, we could talk to and immerse newcommers in the Fediverse right from the start.
@torresjrjr @savjee@masmsddn.io With this guide, how many people hang out in IRC ? I am asking as would it be worth, at a set time each week a group of us being in an IRC channel to answer questions about Mastodon / Fediverse. ?
It may help bring people over if they could talk to someone and ask questions. It is easy enough to put a widget on a website and then publish a link, (we can do this with my blog as I have a widget on there),
Is there a free software equivalent of say meet up, ?

For explaining the gist of the Fediverse to your unenlightened friend. Feedback and contributions are most welcome.

Yay, I think I have a development setup on elementary OS that I’m happy with. Will talk about it more in the coming days.
This is the best I’ve felt yet since switching to Linux.
Finally have something calm and dependable.
Looking forward to contributing to this lovely ecosystem.

The UK has the 5th Richest ECONOMY in the world, and yet we are now being given handouts by UNICEF
Is this evidence there is something seriously wrong with our system for us to end up like this.
