@zleap To be fair schools dont get funding to be soup kitchens. I'm all for feeding kids who are in poverty, I think thats important. But we cant blame school administrators for that, blame the country/state for not funding schools to provide free food to the kids.

Headteacher refuses to feed children who are ‘more than a penny in debt to school’
Pupils whose meal accounts are more than a penny in debt at a school will be left without food at lunchtime.

The severe warning was issued in a letter to parents sent by Neil Foden – the strategic head of Ysgol Dyffryn Nantlle in Penygroes, Gwynedd – as part of an approach recommended by the local council.

@zleap That would be cool. Yea id support a patch with that feature if you wanted to submit it. Or anyone. Otherwise I can consider implementing it myself when I have some time. Depends on how things go in Egypt while im there.

To explain puzzling neutrino behavior, theorists have proposed “dark sector” expansions of the Standard Model that could also resolve the Hubble tension and dark matter. New results suggest these theories could be on the right track. quantamagazine.org/neutrino-pu

@freemo I had an idea for a feature, citing posts

As we can currently embed posts in a website would it be possible to grab post information such as who posted it, date etc and a link to the post (which you can get to by clicking on it anyway)

That way when writing documents it is possible to quote something but then include a full citation in a bibref file.

@zleap@qoto.org @piggo@piggo.space debian is very bad at handling package dependencies, so inexperienced users can easily end up breaking their systems by accidentally uninstalling packages when they just want to install some software or do a system upgrade

it’s part of why i never recommend debian-based distros

3d printer nerds; what do you do with your failed/broken prints? Is there like, someone I can send them to that can grind them down and recycle them into filament?

In another example of wierdness. I have Debian 10 and XFCE 4 onmy netbook, I recently installed

texlive
textstudio and
jab ref

one of these during the install processl decided that the xfce4-panel package wasn't needed, the result of that is that the top and bottom panels vanished, (thankfully the config was not deleted)

@zleap they won't. most doctors have effectively zero training in vaccine tech other than how to jab the needle, most won't even file reports if patients complain.

it was already known pre-covid that our registries contain less than 10% of adverse reaction reports. i think it's as low as 1% in the harvard lazarus report.

now with covid out people are being censored and handwaved for citing the very same databases (ex. a paper was pulled because according to scandinavian equivalent of VAERS, 2 people died for every 3 saved using the same standards of declaring a covid death [28 days from injection instead of within 28 days of a PCR test, https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/coronavirus/retraction-paper-vaccine-deaths-spurs-demand-more-scrutiny-reported])

there has been immense resistance to admit that adverse reactions happen, to the point they had to drag the medical boards kicking and screaming in Norway as they tried to find literally any excuse to blame something else and too many doctors had ruled out all the alternative excuses to avoid having myocarditis officially declared a risk.

Today is 11th November which in many parts of the world is Armistice day,

Mind blown: the Norwegian public service broadcaster NRK created an open source, web-based TV automation system for studios and live shows that’s used in daily live TV news productions since 2018.
