Trump faces trial for civil assault charges filed by E. Jean Carroll, who accused him of rape in the mid-1990s.

With the trial set for April 25, the former president's lead lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, and the other half of his legal team, Alina Habba, are no match for Carroll's lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, an experienced and well-regarded civil rights and commercial litigator. Judge Lewis Kaplan has denied Trump's motion to adjourn the trial and ordered it to proceed as scheduled. With strong evidence against him and an unfavorable judge, Trump's only option may be to offer Carroll a significant amount of money to settle the case without having to admit any culpability.

E. Jean Carroll’s lawsuit against Donald Trump is very bad for Trump. https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2023/04/trump-e-jean-carroll-suit-sexual-assault-kaplan.html

I spotted a doe deer with my binoculars while sitting by my car today, near Whitchurch down, Tavistock. I watched him graze for a while then lay down in the shade of the hedge. You can see him here in the bottom of the picture #Dartmoor #Devon #deer #wildlife #photography

A large team of climate scientists updated their estimates of the Earth's energy budget. Over the 2006-2020 period, the Earth's Energy Imbalance (EEI) was estimated at 0.76 ± 0.2 W/m^2. This net input of energy into the climate system was stored in the ocean (89%), land (5%), cryosphere (4%) and atmosphere (2%).

“Mindy, 9 people looked at your LinkedIn profile”

Nice try, LinkedIn, but I don’t really care who looks at my LinkedIn profile.

What gun-loving Americans fail to realise is that the average gun lover in the rest of the world looks on with horror at the American gun culture.
It is neither normal nor healthy to live in a society where you get shot if you get the wrong doorbell. It is not a normal society

Quiet quitting this, quiet quitting that. But no one talks about quiet pay cuts, which is when your salary isn't adjusted for inflation. So when you've been receiving the same salary for the past 3 years, you're actually taking pay cuts because your money has less value now.

DeSantis's expansion of his restrictions on same-sex instruction in schools to cover high school gives the lie to the idea it was about protecting sweet innocent children. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/04/20/florida-desantis-gay/
