Because I'm only seeing other #Jews posting about this, non-Jews I need you to be aware that for the past month or two there has been a wave of bomb threats and swattings at #synagogues all across the US. They usually do it when services are being livestreamed. I haven't seen a single non-Jew talking about this. High holidays are coming up in a few weeks, which is when most attacks happen against our #communities. We're worried, and we need #people to know what's happening to us.

@zleap @davidho no, the river water is not too warm to cool reactors. It's too warm in the sense that after cooling the reactor, it would be returned to the river too hot for wildlife. A nuclear accident is not at stakes at the moment, but a huge ecological problem is.

I have a message for nuclear bros about climate change. Heatwaves will affect the operations of existing nuclear power plants.

Also, we shouldn’t shut down existing nuclear power plants but we can’t build sufficient number of new ones fast enough to decarbonize with just nuclear.

I try to keep my 🐘 feed focused to my own work/interests and to #AcademicChatter ... but this year's wildfire season in Canada has been apocalyptic. It's not just the residents fleeing the fires (already horrible), even the cities far away are unable to exercise or breathe outdoors. My 94yo bubby has been stuck inside much of the summer, my asthmatic mum has been suffering. There is no one unaffected.

We needed to respond 30 years ago.

From a 50p packet of seeds came this wonderful #cardoon. It's surrounded by bronze fennel in my edible front garden project, edged with golden marjoram, chives and there are blackcurrants in there too. Fab leaves and pollinators love it.
