Just chiming in here--- I never support humans killing humans for any reason whatsoever.

Member, after 9/11, when everyone, in an emotional frenzy, supported the invasion of Iraq, as their anger was manipulated into the desire for bloodthirsty revenge. Remember, hundreds of thousands of people died. Remember the propaganda. Remember the dehumanisation. Here we go again.

I most identify with kids and teens trying to transition today, under a more supportive environment, because that's what I would have done under those circumstances.

I loathe conservatives and others who want to deny them that, and it feels very personal to me in a way a "cracked egg" does not. Because I was one of those kids once. And I didn't have the opportunity.

But that doesn't make anyone else any less valid.

We have a problem with squirrels eating our jack o' lanterns, so I just work with them. I need an idea for this year! #halloween #pumpkins #squirrel

The world still invests more than $1,000 billion every year in fossil fuels.

But things are moving.

Clean energy now sees $1,750 billion of investment per year.

And the International Energy Agency (IEA) expects this to only go one way: ⬆️

UK democracy in action : Waving Palestinian flag may be a criminal offence, Braverman tells police

Home secretary also suggests clampdown on pro-Arab chants in letter that will concern free speech advocates

Waving a Palestinian #flag or singing a chant advocating freedom for Arabs in the region may be a criminal offence, Suella Braverman has told senior police officers.

In a letter to chief constables in #England and #Wales, the home secretary urged them to clamp down on any attempts to use flags, songs or swastikas to harass or intimidate members of the Jewish community.

Her words, which follow deadly attacks by #Hamas on Israelis and a #military response, will deeply concern #freedom of speech advocates and members of the #Muslim community.

In the letter, #Braverman said police should not restrict themselves to potential offences related to the promotion of Hamas, a proscribed organisation.

In the last 20 years, I’ve read only one mostly fair and balanced unpacking of the fundamentals behind the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. It was this one, by Max Fisher. It’s 8 years old, but still mostly current.

I urge everyone, especially you GenZs who are new to this ongoing tragedy to read it. It’s important to know what’s real, what’s myth, and what’s complete bullshit. Dare I say it? “On both sides.”

"We in the health sector are realising the true horror of what is happening here – that no one is safe. Not families in their homes, and not first responders in ambulances. My eldest son, who is nine years old, asked me whether if he died he would go to heaven or hell. This broke my heart in half." Mahmoud Shalabi, Gaza director for Medical Aid for Palestinians.

Forget the lie about EU money for Hamas. For ordinary Palestinians, the aid is a lifeline
Brussels is right to backtrack on its threats – cutting the territories’ largest aid package would only inflame the crisis
That suspending aid was even considered, and remains a possibility, is mind-boggling. If the goal is to punish Hamas, stopping European aid makes no sense. The EU and its member states do not fund Hamas.

We all understand the urge to retaliate, but all this punishing war against Gaza will do is generate recruitment videos for Hamas. Israel claims their motive it to “crush” Hamas, but they know full well that urban combatants are almost impossible to separate from the civilians they look exactly like. And most of them are young people who have grown up knowing only a brutal occupation. Each one killed just radicalizes their families. This is just an act vengeance, not a rational strategy.

I've had several inquiries about how to get a print of some my photographs. This is a hobby for me, so I haven't been equipped to handle those requests. But I enjoy what I'm doing and want to share my photographs.

So, I set up an account and website with pixels. My website is: swede1952-photographs.pixels.c

If you want a print of one of my photographs, you can get it there, If I haven't loaded it, let me know which one it is, and I'll gladly load it there for you.

Cheers!

It is strange and disturbing to see so many posts on social media that deny it's a war crime to stage a surprise attack on civilians (including murders, kidnappings, and rapes) or to starve out a civilian population (by cutting off electricity, food, and water).

These are both obviously war crimes and should be discussed as such.
