#Tusky 19 beta 1 is out!
Among other features and a lot of fixes, it adds the highly requested support for push notifications via Unified Push.

If you don't know what Unified Push ist, here is a small explanation 👇

Usually, app developers choose which push provider they integrate in their apps. But that also means that users have no control through which servers their push notifications go, and the integrated push provider may not work on all devices. Unified Push (UP) solves that by separating the push provider out of apps and letting users choose their own. More information about UP and a list of available providers can be found at unifiedpush.org/

That means if you want push notifications in Tusky you will need to install a provider app as well. A good choice that is open source and works out of the box without configuration is ntfy. It is available on F-Droid and Google Play. If you choose to not install a push provider, Tusky will just fall back to the pull based notification system it had up until version 18.

Push notifications also need additional permissions from the Mastodon server in order to work. Until now Tusky has not asked for those permissions, so when upgrading to version 19 it will ask you to login again.

@Tusky When I open someone else's homepage, there is always a reminder that "the application is abnormal",even I can't find the way to follow them, I don't know why.

@2016 🤔 what..? Are you on the most recent version? Can I get a screenshot of the problem please?
