Here's my short book review of 'Against the Day' https://midnight.pub/posts/380 ; in other news I'm blogging at midnight.pub. It's accessible via https and gemini protocols, I'm trying to stick to the gemini side of things and not cross-link so much.
What happened to my goal to not read any book in 2021 if it doesn't have at least a token queer character? I cheated on it with Pynchon. I know approaching certainty that there's going to be some gay sex in a 1000+ page scramble of sex and violence, basically by entropy, but the choice to read this doesn't really count in spirit.
@coldwave did you ever read/start reading Infinite Jest? I recall you posted about it before. it has some characters i guess you'd call queer. not exactly favorable portrayals, but most of the characters are bizarre in one way or another
@2ck I have it in a pile somewhere, then I guess I could read it this year if I feel like reading something long and unpleasant again within the year
