I rely a lot on bird calls / songs to identify birds, but mockingbirds are really confusing there. I use a bird ID app when I can't recognize the calls. I saw a mockingbird and decided to record it: the app pinged for four other species besides the mockingbird (including two simultaneously??) as I stood there watching it

I know, but I thought they just sounded kinda like other birds, but they're so spot on. there are a heck of a lot of them around here actually, but I only recently started tuning in to bird sounds to the extent i can tell them apart, so I didn't really appreciate their abilities before
