My heart breaks for yet another #schoolshooting. It is an everywhere problem in the US: private or public, red state or blue, small town or large. We all have to face these tragedies together.

But there are some commonalities with all of these #massshootings. One is that they aren’t impulse-control lapses; they’re planned out well in advance, despite the shooters fully expecting they will die during it. And therefore, fear of retribution won’t deter them any more than it will suicide bombers.
