Oh wow, how obscure game transfer works in Steam.
First of all, you must install beta client on desktop (by enabling participating in betas).
Then, from updated desktop client (assuming both deck and PC have this option enabled), you instead of play select drop down menu and pick the deck.
After, click install button on PC client and finally you'll see "transferring files" progress bar, but even then I'm not sure if it really transfers, because now #SteamDeck shows "downloading" and same does PC client.
Ugh, I guess? ![]()
Also I have a question to community who follows SD tag, does remote play works for you fine with games installed by Hero Launcher? I have no idea how to change any settings, all I can "see" is black screen on PC, but music/sound streams fine.. and that's it. Did I miss something or that's intentionally from Valve? Which I really doubt, they are not like others locking down their system as much as possible, they picked Linux as base for their SteamOS after all, so I think that's some problem on my side
@AncientGood
They don't realy want you to use there competitors, but they know they can't block them without losing to Windows.
So they let you do what you want on it, even "provide" the desktop mode to win you over.
But they unlikely want to do lots of extrawork for there competitors.

It's likly a little more complecated.
Valve wants to get away from Windows, as MS already tryed to lock them out, and likely will try again if presented with the oportunity.
The only viable option for this is linux, but they have to move the wohle ecosystem to sucseed.
Quite a hard task, wich is why they are at it since before Steam OS 1 till today.
