I'm all about being nice and civil with "experts" who disagree with me on how to interpret data. But Dr Joseph Ladapo is consistently all kinds of wrong, and I wonder if he is actually capable of reading medical data. His statements are demonstrably UNTRUE.
His MD from Harvard would insinuate that he is capable, sadly. It's a choice he's made, just like Ted Cruz and his Harvard law degree, or John Kennedy pretending to be a dumb redneck with his Oxford education. Don't underestimate them.
@BE Yeah but an MD offers MINIMAL training, if any, in epidemiology, public health, or data analysis/interpretation. His PhD is in policy... again, not relevant training.
That's absolutely fair, but, he can read a study without misrepresenting it if he wanted to. He just doesn't want to. They *want* you to think they're dumb and underestimate them.
We have a game in our house. We take a quote from some politician and we all guess "Dumb? Or just playing dumb?"
@BE Good game. 2 or more decades ago it could have all been reliably playing dumb. Now, not so sure.
If it's Boebert or Gohmert, they're probably actually dumb, but there's some real grey areas with some of them.
@BE I'm so naive that I want to attribute to arrogance and lack of expertise what is probably better explained by actual moral malice
