"I am following this account for news about, well, gaming on Linux. I'd appreciate it if you could stick to the content I, and I expect most others, are following this account for."

If this is you. Don't follow me. And anyone sending me that shit will be blocked. I am an actual person, not a robot, thanks.

Yes this account is "GamingOnLinux", but it's just a name. This account is for everything I do, not just a feed of news. That includes taking the piss out of current internet events.

They're not used to real people. They mistakenly believe you're some sort of corporate PR drone (which is still no excuse to be mean), and are still sensitive about twitter turning into a cesspool, as a lot of us were. Not to excuse it, but it helps to know why.

Kids - gamingonlinux is a person (as are most posters here). His name is Liam. He has good content, cut him slack. This is mastodon - there's no algorithm, you see his content because you asked to. If you don't like it, don't follow. Or filter out "twitter" in your client - lots of options, but bitching about it isn't a good one. On mastodon, blocking actually works, so we do it early and often.
