Ya, friends and neighbors, when you encounter a person with a disability who is eyeball deep into a self-pity party, facts will piss her off. STEM requires mathematic skills in ALL branches, and don't let anybody try to convince you to believe any different.
As to the bigotry end of it, you'll find lots of bigots among the greasemonkey set but misogyny is part of that deal.
A gal with a legit disability flubs numbers as we all do, disability or not, and the greasemonkey makes a crack about it, and it's likely that it's just as much about how he thinks all females are dim as it is about ...what? was he even aware of the disability?
I doubt it, and that's partly why I called that gal's issue a self-pity party. The other part was blaming STEM programs for doing their job right. Everybody flubs the numbers, even people with no disability. The greasemonkey's crack was not called for, but everybody runs into people who makes cracks that ain't called for.
And none of that is the STEM program's problem.
