Civilisation ends the moment we learn how to transfer consciousness into a computer. This is clearly a superior kind of existence. Well so long as the machines run. The one way we could reach the stars, as immortal beings of pure energy. It's not as fancy as in science fiction, just energy floating around space, but the next best thing
