I'm seeing a growing clash between people who want content warnings on political content and news and people who very much don't. I fall into the latter category: The idea that political content and news should be hidden for the betterment of the community is antithetical to my values. That said, if that's the norm here and it doesn't reduce the impact that news, in particular, is meant to have, then I'm fine with CWs. Thoughts?

They're like car blinkers. Yes, you have to expend a miniscule amount of effort and thought to use them, but if they prevent demonstrable actual harm, then that is easily outweighed.
