@adamdavidson It's not absurd because people who I consider smart and to be acting in good faith have, at least until recently, believed that there was something to these claims that elements on the left (cough trans people cough black people cough) were suppressing free speech and Weiss/Taibbi types were its defenders.
I found it maddening, but my hope is that this demonstrates for at least some folks how hollow and baseless all of that junk always was.

If Elon throws me off Twitter for talking mad shit on conservatives I think he has that right. If my friends boycott your business because you’re a bigot that’s not being cancelled. No government involvement.
@cmduhe Correct. There's nothing illegal about what Elon's doing, and he has every "free speech" right to do what he's doing.
*However*, he made a *really big deal* about turning Twitter into a "free speech platform" where nobody gets banned for the content of their speech.
Now he's banning people for making fun of him.
People are pointing out how the hypocrisy is thick enough to cut with a knife.
